The NH36 automatic movement, originally known as the Seiko Instruments Caliber 7S26 with added day complication, is a highly regarded mechanical movement developed by Seiko Instruments, a subsidiary of Seiko. It is a variant of the NH35, with the key distinction being the addition of a day-date complication, allowing it to display both the date and the day of the week.
Like the NH35, the NH36 operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and offers a 41-hour power reserve, ensuring reliable timekeeping for over a day even when the watch is not worn. It is also self-winding, meaning it is powered by the movement of the wrist, and features hacking, allowing the second hand to stop when the crown is pulled out for precise time setting.
The NH36 is equipped with 24 jewels to reduce friction and wear, enhancing the movement’s durability and performance. It also includes a quickset date and day function, allowing easy and independent adjustment of the date and day display.
