Jacob Arabo's Latest Project - Largest Residential Building In Dubai.

Jacob Arabo, also known as "Jacob the Jeweler," is a Russian-American jeweler known for his high-end jewelry designs. He was born in Uzbekistan and immigrated to the United States in the late 1980s. In the 1990s, he began making jewelry for rap artists and other celebrities, and his business quickly grew. He has designed pieces for a number of well-known individuals, including Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

In partnership with developer Burj Bingatti, famed jeweler Jacob Arabo is planning to build the world’s largest residential skyscraper—a hypertower topped off with gold leaf. Dubbed the “hyper tower, the project aims to create a world class address in one of the fastest growing cities on earth,” according to the press release.

The project’s designers claim that the shape of the super high rise resembles a crown, referencing the gemstones used in Jacob and Co. timepieces, and the building will feature the same gold leaf accenting that is seen in Arabo’s fine jewelry collections. At 3,000 feet tall, the tower will be the second tallest residential building in the entire world. But the sheer size of the project is already garnering attention from other developers.

A spokesperson for Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority told the Associated Press that the city hopes to break ground within the next year on another 500-meter-high skyscraper, to be built within the same neighborhood as the hyper tower. If everything goes according to plan, the hyper tower could be completed by 2020. Despite its gargantuan proportions, the hyper tower will only contain 550 units, far fewer people than a normal apartment in downtown Dubai. But the developer claims that the lower number of apartments reflects the project’s emphasis on privacy, security, and prestige.

Residents of the hyper tower will enjoy amenities such as concierge service, private elevators, a private helipad, and 24/7 guards. The project is being designed by architect Richard Meier, whose work includes the Getty Center in Los Angeles and the Guggenheim Museum’s expansion in Bilbao, Spain.
